Phacoemulsification refers to modern cataract surgery in which an ultrasonic hand-piece is used to crack & emulsify the opaque lens of the eye, which is replaced by a fold-able artificial intra-ocular lens. The UPS of phacoemulsication is the 2.2 mm self sealing incision through which hand-piece enters the eye, that allows stitch less surgery & quick recovery for patients.
Phacoemulsification when performed through 1.8 mm incision is called micro phaco. A roll-able lens is implanted through this small incision.
Glaucoma is a group of disease affecting the optic nerve that results in vision loss and is frequently characterized by rise in intra-ocular pressure (IOP). Without treatment glaucoma can lead to total permanent blindness. Treatment includes prescription drops, laser peripheral iridology (P.I.), trabeculectomy (where a new channel is created to drain aqueous) & glaucoma drainage implant in severe cases.
Includes a group of procedures performed in the posterior segment of the eye involving the vitreous humor & Retina. Lasers and conventional instruments are used for this purpose. It is required in Retinal diseases such as Age Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD), Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal Detachment, Macular Hole etc.
Squint refers to an ocular condition where the eyes look in different directions. If left untreated, vision in deviated eye deteriorates. Corrective surgery should be done as early as possible. Squint surgery aims to loosen or tighten the eye muscles thereby correcting the misalignment of eye.
Oculoplasty Surgery is the cosmetic, corrective, and re-constructive surgery of the eye. It manages and repairs problems primarily related to the tissues or structures surrounding the eye, rather than the eyeball itself. These structures include the eyelids, the tear ducts, and the orbit (bony socket surrounding the eye).
LASIK (Laser Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis), commonly referred to as laser vision correction, is a type of refractive surgery for the correction of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. The LASIK surgery shapes the eye's cornea in order to improve visual acuity. For most patients, LASIK provides a permanent alternative to eyeglasses or contact lenses. C- LASIK is the fully integrated personalized correction system that helps patients to achieve better vision quality. C-LASIK is fast, virtually painless and many advanced built in safety features that optimise the success of treatment.
